America's #1 flea market Traders Village is teaming up with That Video Mag to produce a branded video series that showcases the one-of-a-kind experience shoppers can expect at their Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas locations.
Traders Village offers some of the best deals on products such as name-brand retail items, handcrafted goods, and even animals. For more than 40 years, Traders Village has set the standard for flea markets around the world with vendor policies that restrict counterfeit goods and require that animals are vaccinated and visited by vets on a weekly basis. And because Traders Village is a flea market set in a theme park environment, it's the ideal place for families to spend the day.
With one of the largest social media followings of any flea market in the world, Traders Village saw the opportunity for an online series. "In the past, the traditional flea market shopper wasn’t really someone who was online. But as we get further along, more people have mobile devices and we've done a lot more with online advertising. We've grown a pretty large community now, and it's something that's become a hotbed for us," said Traders Village Marketing Director Carl Foy.
"Other flea markets do Facebook live and Periscope, but I think this is going to feel like an organic story, and it's really going to be the next level for us."
Over the next six months, That Video Mag will produce a 24 episode web series following lively and eclectic host Paula Marcenaro Solinger as she explores Traders Village. Originally from Argentina, Paula has starred in numerous television shows, movies, and plays. In 2004, she introduced audiences around the world to the famous markets of San Telmo in the documentary Best of Buenos Aires. In 2017, Paula is elated to showcase Traders Village.
"I like mixing things that are new with things that are old, so I'm most excited about that," says Paula. "I want to see what vendors have and what they can do and talk to them and maybe even share ideas; if they want to teach me how to do something, even crochet, I'll give it a shot! And if I screw up, it'll be something to laugh at. It's good to laugh at yourself!"
That Video Mag is an early pioneer of online video platforms. Since 2012, That Video Mag has provided online video content across a wide array of industries. By 2018, 80% of the world's traffic will be video. Consumers are also more likely to buy a product after watching a video about it.
The Traders Village video series will launch early 2017 on the Traders Village website.
